Captain of 2012 Canadian Can-Am Cup Doubles Squash Team

Squash Canada is seeking nominations for Canadian Captain of the 2012 Can-Am Cup doubles matches to be held in Buffalo, NY October 26 – 28.   Teams for the event are chosen by each country’s respective captain, based upon overall rankings and national tournament results.  The successful candidate should have a history of organizing tournaments or activities contributing to the development of doubles in Canada.
The Can-Am Cup is a biannual doubles competition between Canada and the U.S. bringing together the best men and women doubles players from across North America to represent their country.  The inaugural 2008 event was held in Boston, MA with the U.S. side being the overall victor.  The second edition in 2010 was held at the Toronto Cricket Club with the Canadian Team narrowly winning the men’s competition and the U.S. winning both the women’s and overall competitions. Complete results are available at www.canamsquash.com.
Each country’s team is comprised of two pairings from each of the following categories:  Men’s Open, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ and Women’s Open, 40+, 45+, 50+. Each team will play 2 full matches as well as a 1 game lightning round match.
To make a nomination for Canadian Team Captain or for more information contact Pat Richardson at patrichardson100@gmail.com. Nominations should include a brief summary of the contributions made by the nominee.  Nominations close January 15, 2012.
