Laurie's Story Laurie has been organizing the WMSL since 1996. An extreme amount of ingenuity and effort has been needed to adapt to the ever-changing women’s squash environment in Montreal. Different team combinations, divisions, and imagination have been necessary to keep the WMSL going strong all these years. A few years ago, the 3-team concept was created to adapt to a smaller group of players. Then in 2010, a 5-team concept was tried, where the B’s, C’s and D’s were all combined into one division. And now for the first time ever in the history of the Montreal Squash Interclub League a 6-team division has been launched. This allows for a larger group of women players to interact and play squash interclub each week and how much FUN it is! As an off-shoot of the weekly WMSL interclub matches, Laurie organizes several “Ladies Nights” during the regular squash season; OPEN to ALL levels of squash playing women. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new opponents, and for any woman to try to play the game of squash for the first time. See the Women's section of our web site for further info |
