Jesters Junior #3, 5 décembre 2005

The December event at Hudson usually provides a Currier & Ives setting and this year's event last Sunday, 5 December, didn't disappoint. It may have lacked last year's fifteen centimeter snowfall but there was plenty of the white stuff around. Since there are only two courts, and since some younger players seemed a bit intimidated by being grouped with older players, entry was limited to twelve Under Twelves. Eight showed up which makes one reconsider the attraction of having an event of their own but it did mean that everybody got six matches.

In the club participation standings the two leaders, Hudson, now on 38 points, and West Island,12 back at 26, got richer while the others fell further behind. In the Blue Group James Humphrey of West Island finished first, followed by Cassidy Smith and Jeremy Pryde of Hudson and Christie Helestine of West Island, each separated by one point. James Kierans of the MAA swept the Red Group with nine points. Dan Pounder of Hudson was second with five, followed by Devon van der Weyden of West Island and Zoe Charles of Hudson. Christie Helestine and clubmate Devon van der Weyden each had six points in the Yellow Group but, since Christie won their match she finished first. One point behind, on five, was Jeremy Pryde with five. In the Orange Group with nine points, James Humphrey won the battle of the Jameses over James Kierans of the MAA. Cassidy Smith edged out clubmate Dan Pounder for third.

Event Four will be @ West Island on 7 January.
