Black Knight / Ashaway (BKA) GRAND PRIX SENIOR CIRCUIT
Tournament Circuit:
BLACK KNIGHT / ASHAWAY “Grand Prix Circuit” Tournaments are identified on the Squash Quebec Tournament Calendar at the beginning of the squash season. The circuit will contain not less than 4, not more than 6 “A-B-C-D” tournaments.
Circuit winners:
- Number of events qualifying for prizes
- BKA is ready to support up to 6 categories, being men’s and women’s B-C-D.
- Points
- The system is a combination that encourages both performance and participation, and will be maintained by Squash Quebec.
- Grand Prizes
- Players must play in a minimum of 50% of the BKA circuit tournaments in order to qualify for the grand prizes. Should that mean a total of 5 BKA tournaments in the season, you must play a minimum of 3 to qualify.
ii. Players will receive 1-point towards qualifying, for every tournament played in during the season. Note: Players will only receive 1-point per tournament, regardless to the number of categories played in.
iii. BKA will establish a prize pool from which grand prizewinners will receive certificates redeemable directly from BKA for merchandise. Values will be based on retail prices. BKA will put $75 into the prize pool for each time the category is played up to a maximum of 4, with 55% going to the 1st place finisher, 30% going to 2nd place, and 15% going to 3rd place.
iii.a. Therefore if during the season 5 tournaments are held, with each of 6 categories played 5 times, the prize pool per category would be 4x$75=$300. First place would then receive a $150 certificate; second place would receive $100 and third place would receive $50.
iii.b. If a category is played less then the qualifying number of tournaments, then there will be no winner for that category. Example: If Ladies D category is only played in 2 tournaments, and there are 6 tournaments during the season, then no prizes are awarded.
iv. When 2 categories are combined (women or men), the prize allocation is calculated at 50% per category, and is added to the prize pool for each of the two categories, subject to point iii above.
v. At the end of the season, should there be multiple winners for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, the final season prize will be divided equally.
vi. All points won throughout the season will remain totaled in the category played in.
d. Eligibility
- In order to qualify, players must be a member of a “sanctioned” Squash Quebec club, or have paid an individual membership to Squash Quebec.
